Financial Aid & Scholarship Information

A Senior Scholarship Meeting was held on 2/6.
Students received a packet of information that included a
senior calendar, list of local scholarships, and information
about Senior Honors Night.

Cargill Community Scholarship:
Applications and program guidelines are available at
www.cargill.com, keyword:  scholarship.  Please note:
Each application must have a signature from a Cargill
employee--
Cargill, 3100 Bonanza Rd,Lake Odessa.
Deadline is February 15, 2012.

Michigan Education Association (MEA):
Applications are available at http://www.mea.org/awards/meascholarship.html. Criteria of selection: Academic achievement, school/community service, extracurricular activites--all other criteria being equal, first consideration will be given to children of MEA members and students from lower income households. Recipients must attend a public state institution of higher education or the few private institutions listed on the application. Additional criteria
available on the application. Postmark deadline is Friday,
February 10, 2012.

Rosa Parks Scholarship:
Applications are available at rosaparksscholarshipfoundation.org.  Postmark deadline is
March 1, 2012.

Barry Community Foundation:
Open to Barry County residents.  Online application and information available at www.barrycf.org.  Due March 15, 2012.

Lakewood Area Choral Society Scholarship:
Applicant will pursue a major in vocal music education or
voice at a four-year, accredited institution.  Information and
application at www.lacsmusic.org.  Due March 7, 2012.

Portland Federal Credit Union McCrumb Scholarship:
Scholarship application and information is available at their website at www.pfcu4me.com under the "youth" link. 
Due March 31, 2012.

Sunfield Area SPY's Scholarship:
Open to LHS seniors who are residents of the Sunfield area (live within the boundaries of the Sunfield elementary school attendance area).  Criteria includes community involvement, documented leadership ability or qualities, and be a
well-rounded individual.  Information and application
available at www.sunfieldspys.org.  Due March 15, 2012.

Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) Scholarship:
To be eligible, the student or his/her parent must be employed
at a business that is a member of MRA. 
Apply online at www.retailers.com or call 800.366.3699 for
an application.  Applications must be requested by
March 15 and submitted by April 2,
2012.

Steven J. Thatcher Scholarship (Seniors planning to attend CMU):
Criteria:  Student must attend CMU, minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0,  preference will be given to applicants who are residents of Ionia County.  Completed application is due to the Guidance Office
by 2/21/12.

Delta Kappa Gamma Grant-In-Aid:
Applications are available in the G.O.  The Grant is awarded to females majoring in teacher education.

Green Acres Retirement Community Scholarship:
Green Acres is giving two scholarships.  Applicant must live in Ionia County and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Additional criteria and how to apply is in the G.O.
Deadline:  5/1/12

Sally D. Rumfield Memorial Scholarship:
Majors accepted:  Library Science, English, Literature, and Teaching/Education.  Minimum GPA:  3.5.  Additional
criteria is on the application.
Deadline:  4/13/12
