Lakewood High School Mission Statement

Lakewood High School keeps education R.E.A.L. by promoting:

  • Responsibility
  • Extracurricular opportunities
  • Academic Challenges
  • Life long learning

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Lakewood High School, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the high school website.  This site was created to provide parents and students with information about our school, its programs and students.  I also hope it will serve as a ready reference to necessary information about the daily operation of the school.

The programs offered at LHS are designed to prepare our students for the challenges of tomorrow.  The curriculum and instructional programs are designed to allow every student to be challenged, to pursue their interest, to realize their potential and meet the rigor of the Michigan Merit Curriculum.

It is the goal at LHS to teach our students Responsibility, provide Extracurricular opportunities, provide Academic challenges and make our students into Life-long learners.  By keeping it “REAL” at LHS, the staff believes that our students are better prepared for the future.

It is a pleasure to work with the outstanding staff at LHS who are dedicated to the mission of educating their students.  It is also a privilege to work with students who are motivated and serious about their education and future.

With the eventual completion of the remodeling of the high school, the students at LHS will be given a “world class” education.  The 2008-09 school year, brings change to LHS.  The students will be using the trimester format for scheduling.  This will provided our students with the academic challenges they need and still provide opportunities to explore other classes.   Finally, I would like to thank you for your contribution to the development of the students at LHS.

Sincerely,
Brian C. Williams, Principal
