  •  What is Kinderstart?
    Kinderstart is a program designed to give your child the additional time and opportunities that they need to prepare them for the academic, social and emotional demands of Kindergarten. 

    Who is eligible for Kinderstart?
    Children of Kindergarten age who need additional time to grow and mature socially, emotionally and/or academically.

    How will my child learn in Kinderstart?
    Your child will learn through a variety of hands on learning experiences including;

    • Large group instruction
    • Small group instruction
    • Free play and exploration
    • Independent learning centers

    What will my child learn in Kinderstart?
    Your child will learn how to:

    • Identify the letters and sounds
    • Identify the letters and sound at the beginning of a word
    • Write first and last name using correct case
    • Recognize and write numbers to 10
    • Count to 30
    • Count up to 20 objects
    • Follow classroom routines
    • Play cooperatively and problem solve with peers
    • Follow simple 2 and 3 step directions
    • Listen and pay attention in large group situations for 15-20 minutes
    • Remain focused on an activity long enough to complete it

    *** Once your child masters a particular academic skill, we will continue to work with them in small groups and one on one to keep them challenged and continuously progressing.
