Enrollment Age Requirement

A recently enacted Michigan law amended the Revised School Code (MCL380.1147), which changed the minimum age requirement for a child enrolling in kindergarten. Children must turn 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2016, in order to register for school. Children who turn 5 after September 1, 2016, and not later than December 1st, 2016, may request an early entrance waiver to attend kindergarten.
