Mrs. Poirier

  • I have no words for the current situation we are in. I look forward to seeing my sweet class again and hope that they (and their family) stay safe and healthy.

We are closing in on our first week of Distance Learning and I wanted you be aware of some of the things as we move forward. Hardcopy packets will be available at each student's school building on April 20 and May 11 (A.M. Pickup - 8:30-11:30 a.m. and P.M. Pickup - 2:00-6:00 P.M.). I have included the packets in their report card envelope which is in their bag of student belongings.

All elementary students must maintain a learning schedule and complete all the assigned coursework in their distance learning plan; however, elementary students will move forward to the next grade for the 2020-2021 school year regardless of the level of work completion.

Packets must be returned to your child’s school building for review and feedback on the following dates:
    - Packet #1 - Due May 11
    - Packet #2 - Due June 2
    - You may also send me completed work as we go as a picture, PDF, Dojo message, email or during a Zoom call.

Packets are BIG!  Please don't be intimidated, we are working through finding a "happy medium" as this is brand new to us as well. Please be flexible and encourage your student to do whatever they can do and help as you feel you can. The time that students are expected to work on their learning each day is 45-90 minutes. Please do not exceed the maximum minutes per day. Your child will need breaks and so will you :) Please try not to stress out about the work and having some fun too!!

I will be available during the day Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. starting on April 20th. During this time, I will be on my computer, accessing emails, checking Dojo Messages or meeting with students on Zoom. During these times you can specifically contact me regarding content your student is working on in their Learning Packet. Please don't hesitate to reach out for anything - I WANT to help!

Please understand that this process will not be perfect and will most likely be adjusted and changed as we dive in together. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. I know it is not always easy to ask for help, but I want you to know that I am here for you, and I truly mean that.
