Mr. Lawrence Teller

1945 - 1947 Years
Philippines, JapanMr. Teller began serving in the U.S. Army at the age of 18 in 1945 and was deployed to the Philippines and Japan. Mr. Teller received training as a Rifleman where he learned to skillfully operate the M-1 Rifle. Mr. Teller was also a part of the US Army Transportation Service, a critical operation for moving soldiers and supplies during World War 2. His service also included working with the Post Exchange in Japan. Mr. Teller was rewarded as a Tech Corporal for possessing specialized skills. He is the recipient of the U.S. Army Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, WW2 Victory Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal. Mr. Teller was active duty through 1947.
Upon return from the service, Mr. Teller owned and operated Larry’s Body Shop in Lansing, Michigan. He married his wife Maxine, who he first met in 5th grade. Together they raised a daughter and two sons. In 1990, they moved to Sunfield, Michigan and enjoyed a slew of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Teller were married for 70 years. Mr. Teller is a member of the Lake Odessa VFW Post.
